Mond Kim’s work gives fresh interpretation to the pre-established.

Her trademark is bringing vibrancy to her subjects. Mond draws context from popular culture, such as public figures or fashion brands, and breathes new life into pre-determined ideas of the classic by melding together these seemingly disparate forces. Applying her skill in fine-art techniques such as still life with her unique eye for color, Mond always creates aesthetically pleasing pieces.

Her work also includes re-imagining space and perspective to create an innovative, interactive area for visitors.

 홍익대학교에서 섬유미술패션디자인을 전공하며 아크릴 페인팅을 활용한 텍스타일을 디자인했다. 같은 기법의 패션 일러스트를 그리며 활동을 본격화 했다. 

 작가는 정형화되지 않은 색감과 구도로 동시대적 풍경을 표현한다. 인물, 정물과 동물, 주변의 모든 것들로 확장된 소재는 우주의 중력으로 부유하고 흘러내린다. 꽃과 별, 구름이 유화처럼 섞이는 작품은 현실과 상상의 사이에 있는 듯 하다. 패션의 영역에서도, 순수 예술의 관점에서도 독특하다. 그 경계에 존재하는 작품은 일상에서 상상으로 향하는 문이 된다.
